Cookie Policy
Spoiler: it's a short list.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Local storage is a similar browser feature for saving small pieces of data. We use both sparingly, and only for things the Service actually needs.
2. What we use
Strictly necessary (no consent required):
- Session cookie (
imingle_session): keeps you logged in if you have an account. It is HTTP-only and secure, and expires when you log out or after 30 days. - Visitor cookie (
im_visitor): a random identifier set when you open a chat, so reports and blocks can be applied to a specific anonymous visitor. It contains no personal information and lasts one year.
Preferences (stored in local storage, never sent to us):
- Appearance (
im-mode,im-color-scheme): remembers whether you chose light or dark mode.
Payment processing (set by Stripe on checkout and account pages):
__stripe_midand__stripe_sid: used by Stripe for fraud detection and to make checkout work. Stripe's cookie practices are described in its privacy policy.
3. What we don't use
We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, social media pixels, or third-party analytics trackers. If that ever changes, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
4. Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the session cookie will log you out and prevent you from using Premium features, but the free chat works without any cookies at all. Clearing local storage just resets your appearance preference.
5. Changes to this policy
We will update this page if the cookies we use change. The date at the top tells you when it was last revised. See also our Privacy Policy.
